So far I have been aligning to the saying, ‘Little knowledge is dangerous'. Some even extend it by saying, ‘It is globally applicable'. When look into the saying on the surface level, it seems to be totally unarguably correct. I've been nodding to the saying, and had even proclaimed when I witnessed a person with little knowledge showed something and had a downfall.
As I look closely into the saying and fathom over it, I debunk it since it is a misinterpretation. If one does not know even a little, of a particular subject / thing, one will never try to know deeper of the said subject. One will not even ask about that subject since one does not even know that exist and therefore, will have no doubt at all. If one doesn’t have a little knowledge, there is no question to developing that subject, and that knowledge will continue to remain unknown.
Only when one knows a little of that subject, and if that interests, one starts to know more of that and try all means to know every detail of it. Once that little knowledge is inquisitive, one becomes a mastery of that subject and contended.
If one has a prior full knowledge of that subject, no questions about that subject will ever arise. One will not even teach to others about that subject because everyone knows of that. When one who knows very well about that particular subject, speaks to the crowd, and listeners understood everything of what have just been heard, no one will ask the speaker or clarify since listeners have no doubts. No doubts implies having full knowledge of that subject. If the listener stand up and clarify something, it directs that the other has no full knowledge. There is a doubt means there is no full knowledge. It is that no full knowledge, which is a little knowledge that drives a person to nurture into a full knowledge.
Therefore, that dangerous must be due to something else, not due to little knowledge. When I look out for the reason behind being dangerous, I found that it is a pride. When there is pride on the subject, patience disappear into the woods. When there is pride, one will not wait that little knowledge to mature into a full knowledge and so, that pride in little knowledge show off one's own little knowledge.
What happens then, when that little knowledge is shown off? Everyone knows the answer... But one should note, it isn’t a little knowledge that is dangerous. It is a pride in little knowledge, that's dangerous. Never fear to have a little knowledge of any subject, but watch out, that no pride enters into your little knowledge.
Little knowledge is essential to mould that very little knowledge into a mature full knowledge. 'No little knowledge' is equivalent to 'no full knowledge', since there will be no driven force that yarns towards a full knowledge, if there is no little knowledge.
Pride in knowledge is dangerous. Or, pride in little knowledge is dangerous. There is no patience in pride. Pride and impatience are almost always journey together.
Little knowledge isn’t dangerous. Pride in little knowledge is!
