My native land

Ranggira Hills, West Garo Hills, Meghalaya
Oh! In you there exists a hidden treasure
Red, green and yellow, colors of men's stature, immense measure;
Living creatures, all, big and small, together as one nature
Flowing and growing, sharing with no puncture.

Little bud keeps growing in spacious, chanting
Easing peace to the soul, calming; exciting;
The mind freeing from all noises
Yet not a devoid, to making choices.

City ailments, nothing, nothing of the kind
From dawn, birds chirping sweetness bind;
Erasing all disquieting, gentling the mind
Freeing all stinks with a breezing wind, forever find.

Oh! My native land, Garo land
That moves the feet to a soothing music, in a band;
Together all in bits performing one's own part
To the rhythms, in timing, to scenic nature's art.
